I am feeling a little technically fated at the moment !

After the computer performance issues that I experienced on the first weekend - I was hit with an email issue this morning…
I think it was a Gmail issue - and not just a problem for me (though I’m not absolutely sure about that !).
All I do know is that my first 2 attempts to send an email failed - and my third one took a long time to process.
Good job I was only saying ‘No bets’ !

I posted on the forum (as I always will, if I believe there are any technical issues) - so hopefully all of you were aware of the situation.

Anyway…

Before I get on to the rationale behind todays bets - a quick ‘heads up’ for a thread that Craig has created in the forum.
As I’m sure some of you are ware, the Racing Post runs a Tote sponsored ‘10 to follow’ Competition through the jumps season.
Craig has set up a TVB mini league - which any of you can enter.
All the details can be found here
I think entries have to be submitted by 11:00 tomorrow morning…

Finally, on to todays bets/thinking…

As I said in the preview, todays racing is not the most punter friendly.
Ultimately, if the races aren’t there, I’m not going to be able to find decent bets (I won’t force things).
As a consequence, the betting action is very light today…

Cheltenham

In the 1:10, I think Enemenemynemo is worth a small risk for the Matrix.
There is plenty of guesswork required, but he looks over-priced to me on the exchanges.
I’m very much in two minds about Skatman.
I was keen on him - but I don’t like his weakness in the market.
I’ll cover stakes on him, just in case.
An Taillur is very strong in the betting (which could well be significant) - but if he wins, then so be it…

I was hoping to get involved with the 1:45 - but I just can’t see a betting angle.
The race is most likely to be won by one of the top 3 in the betting - but the market clearly reflects that.
Worse still, I make Magic Saint just about he most likely, with Editeur de Gite next and then Stolen Silver - again, the market is in complete agreement.
Nothing really grabs me of the outsiders - tho I wouldn’t totally dismiss a couple of them.
If Magic Saint hits 5 (4/1), I’d be interested; if Editeur de Gite hits 6, I’d take a risk on him - but at the current prices, I’ll pass…

With only 2 running in the 2:20, it was always going to be a watching race.
I think the market has got it about right: My Drogo should win - but Gin On Lime is a credible opponent.
It’s likely to come down to jumping - and with My Drogo in particular, we are guessing on that…

I’ve been all over the place looking at the 2:55, and trying to find a best bet - but eventually decided there isn’t one there…
I was very tempted by Balco des Flos - but I’m worried about the weight he has to carry.
Potters Corner is the other one that particularly interests me - though the ground is a concern with him.
As a result, I decided to just cover them both in the Matrix - along with Plan of Attack (who is a stablemate of Balco Des Flos).
Hopefully one of the 3 will win, which would result in a modest profit on the race.

There is too much guesswork required to get involved with the 3:30.
Gelino Bello is the one to beat - but he is plenty short enough in the betting.
There is a slight temptation to take him on - but I’m not sure what with…
Current Mood, Kayf Hernando and Glencassley are all possibles - but I would just be guessing.
In the circumstances, I feel it has to be another watching race.

I like Sashenka and Belgoprince best in the 4:00 - the question is whether they represent any value at current prices, in a very open looking race.
I felt they did so yesterday, at 14/1 - but you can only get 9/1 this morning - and that looks about right.
I’ve still had a minimum bet on each of them via the Matrix - in the hope that their prices drifts a little (which I suspect they will).
